Fire
Fire needs space
And that's what you gave me
In the heart of the heart
And the eye of the eye
A flame was free to burn
As it would burn
Fire is swift and reckless
When wind is licking at its back
A fire is slow and lifeless
When built on the heavy pyre
of yesterday's water logged remains
Our fire did not rage
Nor did it suffocate
Heart was free to feel as it would feel
Eye was free to see and to be seen
A fire wants to be free
A fire wants to be breathed upon wildly
A fire wants to be drowned
A fire wants to be buried quietly in its own ashes
A fire wants to kill
A fire wants to save and to survive
A fire wants to annihilate all you call your own
A fire wants to be break open all that is ripe and dormant inside and have it grow
A fire wants to be the centre of attention
A fire wants to be left alone
A fire wants to flee and to chase
A fire wants to expose, to erase or raise to grace
Our fire wanted only to be itself.
Our fire wanted only a space to be free of space.
