She also weaves her poetry into the kirtan, adding depth and meaning through storytelling.

WHAT IS KIRTAN?

Kirtan is an ancient yogic practice of chanting ancients mantras. 'Man' means mind and 'tra' means to liberate, making kirtan an experience which allows us respite from the mind space. Instead, the awareness naturally rests in the more intuitive, feeling based realms of heart and deeper mind. It is traditionally used as a means of channelling emotions and experiences towards a higher outlet; transforming them into a cathartic experience of connection with the truest part of ourselves. It often brings about not only a sense of inner connection, but also a connectedness with those around us, helping us to recognise that same divine essence in us all.

SOUND SAMADHI MEMBERS

Sound Samadhi members stem from a variety of musical and spiritual traditions and their kirtans reflect this diversity in their combination of tradtional and modern elements that both rock and soothe.

All six members contribute vocally to the kirtan, which is a unique asset of the group.
