Daughter of Mountain

Daughter of Mountain (Anasaskia Shailaputri) learnt kirtan in the traditional setting of yoga ashrams, both in India and Australia. Her pure, angelic voice and open hearted delivery offer sweetness and upliftment. She plays harmonium, a medieval English instrument that was incorporated into Indian music after colonisation, which is sometimes described as similar to a piano accordion or organ. She also weaves her poetry into the kirtan, adding depth and meaning through storytelling.
